Genesis 14:14
When Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, he called out the 318 trained men born in his household and went in pursuit as far as Dan.
In Genesis 14, Abram's nephew Lot is captured by the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah along with their possessions. When Abram hears about it, he gathers his trained men and pursues the captors. In a daring night attack, Abram and his men defeat the enemy kings and rescue Lot, as well as the other captives and their belongings. After the battle, Abram is met by Melchizedek, the king of Salem and a priest of God. Melchizedek blesses Abram and Abram gives him a tenth of everything he has. This encounter highlights Melchizedek's importance and foreshadows the coming of Jesus, who would also be a priest and king. Abram refuses to take any of the spoils of war for himself, declaring that he will not allow anyone to say they made him rich. Instead, he only accepts what his men have eaten and gives a portion to the king of Sodom. This shows Abram's integrity and his trust in God to provide for him.
