Genesis 26:1
Now there was a famine in the land-besides the earlier famine of Abraham's time-and Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines in Gerar.
Isaac, the son of Abraham, went to Gerar during a time of famine. God appeared to him and told him not to go to Egypt, but to stay in the land of Canaan. God promised to bless Isaac and make his descendants numerous, just as He had promised to Abraham. Isaac obeyed God's command and settled in Gerar. However, out of fear for his life, he introduced his wife Rebekah as his sister. When Abimelek, the king of Gerar, found out that Rebekah was actually Isaac's wife, he confronted Isaac and rebuked him for his deception. Despite the challenges and conflicts, Isaac continued to prosper in Gerar. He dug wells and reaped a hundredfold harvest, and God blessed him greatly. Abimelek recognized God's favor upon Isaac and made a covenant with him, acknowledging Isaac's God-given blessings.
