About this Chapter

In this chapter, Pharaoh has two troubling dreams that none of his wise men can interpret. The cupbearer remembers Joseph, who had interpreted his dream accurately while they were in prison together. Joseph is brought before Pharaoh and interprets his dreams, revealing that Egypt will experience seven years of abundance followed by seven years of famine. Impressed by Joseph's wisdom, Pharaoh appoints him as the second-in-command, in charge of overseeing the preparations for the coming famine. This chapter shows God's faithfulness to Joseph, as his interpretation of the dreams leads to his promotion. It also demonstrates Joseph's wisdom and ability to trust in God's guidance. Through Joseph's leadership, Egypt is able to survive the upcoming famine and become a prosperous nation.
