About this Chapter

In Exodus 13, God gives instructions to Moses regarding the consecration of the firstborn. The Lord tells Moses to dedicate to Him every firstborn male, both human and animal. The Israelites are to remember this day when they were brought out of Egypt, and they are to observe this as a lasting ordinance. God also commands the Israelites to observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which commemorates their deliverance from Egypt. For seven days, they are to eat bread made without yeast, and on the seventh day, they are to hold a sacred assembly. This chapter emphasizes the importance of consecrating the firstborn to the Lord and remembering His deliverance. It serves as a reminder that everything belongs to God and that He is the one who brings salvation and freedom.
