In Exodus 14, the Israelites had just been freed from slavery in Egypt and were being pursued by Pharaoh and his army. As they approached the Red Sea, they were trapped with no way to escape. But God performed a miraculous deliverance for his people. He instructed Moses to stretch out his hand over the sea, and the Lord caused a strong east wind to blow, parting the waters and creating a dry path in the middle of the sea. The Israelites crossed the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on either side. Pharaoh and his army, seeing the Israelites escape, pursued them into the sea. However, God caused confusion among the Egyptians, causing their chariot wheels to come off. As the morning approached, Moses stretched out his hand again, and the waters returned, sweeping away the Egyptians. Not a single one of them survived. This event demonstrated God's power and faithfulness to the Israelites. It showed that God was not only able to deliver them from slavery but also to protect them from their enemies. It was a reminder to the Israelites of God's provision and a testament to his sovereignty over all creation.
