Exodus 24:7
Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people. They responded, "We will do everything the LORD has said; we will obey."
In Exodus 24, Moses, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy elders of Israel went up the mountain to worship God. Moses then read the Book of the Covenant to the people, and they responded, 'We will do everything the Lord has said; we will obey.' After that, Moses took the blood of the sacrificed animals and sprinkled it on the people, saying, 'This is the blood of the covenant that the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.' This chapter highlights the confirmation of the covenant between God and the people of Israel. The people willingly committed themselves to obeying God's commandments, and Moses acted as a mediator by sprinkling the blood of the covenant on them. This act symbolized the sealing of the agreement and the establishment of a special relationship between God and Israel. The covenant in Exodus 24 foreshadows the new covenant that God would establish through Jesus Christ. Just as the blood of animals was used to ratify the old covenant, Jesus' blood would be shed to ratify the new covenant. Through Jesus, all people can enter into a covenant relationship with God, receiving forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life.
