Exodus 31:12
Then the LORD said to Moses,
God commands the Israelites to observe the Sabbath as a sign of their covenant with Him. They are to keep it holy by resting and refraining from work. Anyone who violates the Sabbath will be put to death. The Sabbath is a day of rest and a reminder of God's creation. It is a time for the Israelites to cease their labor and focus on worshiping God. By observing the Sabbath, they demonstrate their trust in God's provision and acknowledge His lordship over their lives. The Sabbath is a perpetual covenant between God and the Israelites. It is a sign of their special relationship and a reminder of their deliverance from slavery in Egypt. Through the Sabbath, they are set apart as God's chosen people.
