Exodus 33:7
Now Moses used to take a tent and pitch it outside the camp some distance away, calling it the "tent of meeting." Anyone inquiring of the LORD would go to the tent of meeting outside the camp.
In Exodus 33, Moses sets up a tent outside the camp called the Tent of Meeting, where he would go to meet with God. Whenever Moses entered the tent, the pillar of cloud would descend and stand at the entrance, and the Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Moses pleads with God to show him His glory, and God agrees to pass by Moses while covering his face. As God passes by, He proclaims His name and declares His gracious and compassionate character. Moses bows down and worships, recognizing God's holiness and mercy. God promises to be with His people and guide them into the Promised Land. Moses asks God to show him His ways so that he may know Him more and find favor in His sight. God assures Moses of His presence and favor, promising to do for him what he has asked.
