Leviticus 10:1
Aaron's sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers, put fire in them and added incense; and they offered unauthorized fire before the LORD, contrary to his command.
In this chapter, we learn about the tragic death of Aaron's sons, Nadab and Abihu, who offered unauthorized fire before the Lord. They took their censers, put fire and incense in them, and offered it to the Lord, but He had not commanded them to do so. As a result, fire came out from the presence of the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord. This event serves as a warning to us about the seriousness of approaching God with irreverence and offering worship that is not in accordance with His commands. God desires our worship to be sincere, obedient, and in line with His Word. Nadab and Abihu's actions were a violation of God's holiness and resulted in severe consequences. As believers, we are called to worship God in spirit and in truth, following His instructions and seeking to honor Him with our whole hearts. Let us learn from the tragic example of Nadab and Abihu, and strive to offer worship that is pleasing and acceptable to the Lord.
