Easy Bible・Numbers 8
Numbers 8:2
"Speak to Aaron and say to him, 'When you set up the seven lamps, they are to light the area in front of the lampstand.'"
Numbers 8 describes the instructions given to Aaron by God regarding the setting up of the lampstand in the tabernacle. God told Moses to instruct Aaron to set up the seven lamps on the lampstand so that they give light in front of it. Aaron was to arrange the lamps in such a way that they would shine forward, towards the front of the lampstand. This passage highlights the importance of light in the tabernacle, symbolizing God's presence and guidance. The lampstand was to be made of pure gold, representing the holiness and purity of God. By following God's instructions, Aaron ensured that the lampstand would provide continuous light in the tabernacle, symbolizing God's constant presence and guidance to the Israelites. As believers, we can also learn from this passage the importance of being a light in the world. Just as the lampstand provided light in the tabernacle, we are called to shine the light of God's love, truth, and righteousness in the world. By following God's instructions and living according to His Word, we can be a source of light and hope to those around us.
