Easy Bible・Joshua 6
Joshua 6:20
When the trumpets sounded, the people shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the people gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so every man charged straight in, and they took the city.
In Joshua 6, the Israelites were instructed by God to conquer the city of Jericho. The plan involved marching around the city once for six days, with seven priests carrying trumpets of rams' horns leading the way. On the seventh day, they were to march around the city seven times, and when the priests blew the trumpets, the people were to shout. As they followed these instructions, the walls of Jericho collapsed, and the Israelites were able to enter the city and destroy it. This miraculous event demonstrated God's power and faithfulness to the Israelites. It showed that victory was not achieved through their own strength or military strategy, but through their obedience to God's commands. The fall of Jericho was a significant milestone in the Israelites' conquest of the Promised Land, as it paved the way for further victories. The story of the fall of Jericho serves as a reminder of the importance of trusting in God's guidance and following His instructions. It teaches us that God can accomplish the impossible and that He is always faithful to His promises. Just as the Israelites experienced victory when they obeyed God, we too can experience His blessings and victories in our lives when we trust and obey Him.
