About this Chapter

In this chapter, Caleb, one of the twelve spies who explored the promised land, came to Joshua to claim the inheritance that God had promised him. Caleb reminded Joshua of the promise that God made to him when he was 40 years old, that he and his descendants would inherit the land of Hebron. Caleb was now 85 years old, but he was still as strong as he was back then, ready to conquer the land. Caleb's faith and trust in God never wavered throughout the years. He believed that with God's help, he would be able to drive out the Anakites, the giants who lived in Hebron. Caleb's faith was rewarded, and he received the land of Hebron as his inheritance. He expelled the three sons of Anak from the land and fulfilled God's promise. Caleb's story teaches us the importance of faith and perseverance. Despite the challenges and obstacles that he faced, Caleb remained faithful to God's promises. He trusted in God's strength and guidance, and he was rewarded for his faith. Just like Caleb, we should hold on to God's promises and trust in Him, knowing that He will fulfill His plans for us.
