Easy Bible・Judges 16
Judges 16:4
Some time later, he fell in love with a woman in the Valley of Sorek whose name was Delilah.
In Judges 16, Samson falls in love with a woman named Delilah, who is bribed by the Philistines to discover the source of his strength. Delilah persistently asks Samson about the secret of his strength, and Samson deceives her three times. Eventually, Samson reveals that his strength lies in his uncut hair, and Delilah betrays him by shaving his head while he is asleep. When Samson's hair is cut, his strength leaves him and the Philistines capture him. They gouge out his eyes and make him grind grain in prison. However, Samson's hair begins to grow back while he is imprisoned. One day, the Philistines gather to celebrate their victory over Samson, and they bring him out to entertain them. Samson asks the servant who is leading him to let him lean against the pillars that support the temple. Samson prays to God for strength one last time and pushes the pillars, causing the entire temple to collapse, killing himself and all the Philistines inside.
