Easy Bible・1 Samuel 2
1 Samuel 2:1
Then Hannah prayed and said: "My heart rejoices in the LORD; in the LORD my horn is lifted high. My mouth boasts over my enemies, for I delight in your deliverance.
In 1 Samuel 2, we read about Hannah's prayer to God. Hannah was barren and longed for a child, so she prayed to God and made a vow that if He gave her a son, she would dedicate him to the Lord. God answered her prayer and blessed her with a son named Samuel. In her prayer, Hannah rejoices in God's faithfulness and power, acknowledging that He is the one who raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap. She praises God for His sovereignty and justice, declaring that the bows of the mighty are broken and the weak are strengthened by Him. However, Hannah's prayer also contains a message of God's judgment. She prophesies that those who oppose the Lord will be shattered and that the wicked will be silenced. Hannah recognizes that God is the ultimate judge who will bring justice to the world. She ends her prayer by expressing her trust in God's faithfulness and His ability to protect His people. The prayer of Hannah teaches us the importance of seeking God in our times of need and rejoicing in His faithfulness. It reminds us that God is a God of justice and judgment, and that He will ultimately bring justice to the world. We can trust in His sovereignty and find comfort in His protection.
