Easy Bible・1 Samuel 9
1 Samuel 9:15
Now the day before Saul came, the LORD had revealed this to Samuel:
In 1 Samuel 9, we learn about a man named Saul, who was from the tribe of Benjamin. Saul was sent by his father to look for some lost donkeys. As he was searching, he came across the prophet Samuel. God had already told Samuel that the next king of Israel would come to him, and when Samuel saw Saul, God told him that Saul was the one. Samuel invited Saul to a feast and told him that the donkeys he was looking for had been found. The next day, Samuel anointed Saul as the king of Israel. Samuel explained to Saul that God had chosen him to be the leader of His people and that he would be the one to save them from their enemies. This chapter shows us that God can use unexpected circumstances to bring about His plans. Saul was just looking for some lost donkeys, but God had a greater purpose for him. It also teaches us that God looks at the heart of a person, rather than their outward appearance. Saul may not have seemed like an obvious choice for king, but God saw something in him that made him the right person for the job.
