Easy Bible・1 Samuel 19
1 Samuel 19:1
Saul told his son Jonathan and all the attendants to kill David. But Jonathan was very fond of David
Saul's jealousy towards David continued to grow, as he commanded his son Jonathan and all his attendants to kill David. However, Jonathan, who loved David deeply, warned him of his father's plan and advised him to hide. David heeded Jonathan's warning and went into hiding. Saul sent messengers to David's house in order to capture him, but David's wife Michal, who was also Saul's daughter, helped him escape by lowering him through a window. When Saul found out about this, he became even more determined to kill David. David fled to Samuel in Ramah and told him everything that had happened. Samuel and David then went to Naioth, where a group of prophets were. Saul sent men to capture David there, but when they arrived, they were overcome by the Spirit of God and started prophesying. This happened three times, and each time, Saul sent more men, but they all ended up prophesying instead of capturing David.
