Easy Bible・2 Samuel 2
2 Samuel 2:4
Then the men of Judah came to Hebron and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. When David was told that it was the men of Jabesh Gilead who had buried Saul,
After the death of Saul, David inquired of the Lord and was told to go up to Hebron. So David went up there with his two wives, Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal of Carmel. David also took the men who were with him, each with his family, and they settled in Hebron and its towns. The men of Judah came to Hebron and anointed David king over the tribe of Judah. David was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned over Judah for seven years and six months. During this time, Abner, the commander of Saul's army, made Saul's son Ish-Bosheth king over the rest of Israel, except for Judah. There was a long war between the house of Saul and the house of David, but David grew stronger and stronger, while the house of Saul grew weaker and weaker.
