2 Samuel 20:1
Now a troublemaker named Sheba son of Bicri, a Benjamite, happened to be there. He sounded the trumpet and shouted, "We have no share in David, no part in Jesse's son! Every man to his tent, O Israel!"

About this Chapter

In this chapter, a man named Sheba rebels against King David, causing a division among the Israelites. Sheba blows a trumpet and declares, 'We have no share in David, no part in Jesse's son!' This rebellion threatens the unity of the kingdom and poses a challenge to David's authority. David quickly responds by summoning all the men of Judah to pursue Sheba. However, David's trusted commander, Joab, is delayed in his pursuit. As a result, Sheba takes refuge in the city of Abel Beth Maakah. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, a wise woman from Abel Beth Maakah negotiates with Joab. She convinces the people of her city to surrender Sheba in order to avoid destruction. Joab agrees to spare the city if Sheba is handed over to him. The woman carries out the plan, and Sheba is beheaded and his rebellion is ended.
