1 Kings 3:5
At Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon during the night in a dream, and God said, "Ask for whatever you want me to give you."
In this chapter, Solomon, the son of King David, became the king of Israel. One night, God appeared to Solomon in a dream and said, 'Ask for whatever you want me to give you.' Solomon, recognizing his own inadequacy, humbly asked God for wisdom and discernment to govern the people of Israel. God was pleased with Solomon's request and granted him not only wisdom but also riches and honor. This chapter highlights the importance of seeking wisdom and relying on God for guidance in our lives. Solomon's request for wisdom instead of selfish desires demonstrated his understanding of the responsibility of leadership and his desire to serve God and his people well. As a result, Solomon became known for his wisdom, and his reign was marked by prosperity and peace. Solomon's story teaches us the value of seeking wisdom and discernment in our own lives. Just as Solomon sought wisdom from God, we can also ask God for wisdom in making decisions, understanding His word, and navigating the complexities of life. When we prioritize wisdom and rely on God's guidance, we can experience the blessings and fulfillment that come from living according to His will.
