1 Kings 19:3
Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. When he came to Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there,
After the great victory over the prophets of Baal, Elijah received a death threat from Queen Jezebel. Filled with fear, Elijah fled to Beersheba and then continued on into the wilderness. He was exhausted and desperate, sitting under a broom bush, praying that he might die. But God did not abandon Elijah. An angel appeared to him, providing him with food and water, and instructing him to eat and drink. Strengthened by this provision, Elijah traveled for forty days and forty nights to Mount Horeb, the mountain of God. At Mount Horeb, God spoke to Elijah, asking him why he was there. Elijah poured out his heart, expressing his frustration and loneliness, and how he believed he was the only faithful prophet left. God reassured Elijah that he was not alone, and instructed him to return to Israel and anoint Hazael as king over Aram, Jehu as king over Israel, and Elisha as his own successor.
