1 Kings 20:28
The man of God came up and told the king of Israel, "This is what the LORD says: 'Because the Arameans think the LORD is a god of the hills and not a god of the valleys, I will deliver this vast army into your hands, and you will know that I am the LORD.'"

About this Chapter

In this chapter, Ahab, the king of Israel, is faced with a threat from Ben-Hadad, the king of Aram. Ben-Hadad and his army besiege Samaria, demanding Ahab's silver, gold, wives, and children. Ahab refuses and gathers his own army to fight against Ben-Hadad. God sends a prophet to Ahab and promises him victory over Ben-Hadad. Ahab follows the prophet's instructions and defeats the Arameans in two battles. However, Ben-Hadad escapes and promises to return the following year. Ahab's victory over Ben-Hadad shows that God is with him and is willing to protect Israel from their enemies. It also serves as a reminder that obedience to God's commands brings blessings and victory.
