Easy Bible・2 Kings 3
2 Kings 3:5
But after Ahab died, the king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel.
In this chapter, we see the kings of Israel, Judah, and Edom joining forces to fight against the rebellious king of Moab. The king of Moab had stopped paying tribute to the king of Israel, which led to the formation of this alliance. They decide to take a detour through the wilderness of Edom, but after seven days without water, they find themselves in a desperate situation. Desperate for help, they consult the prophet Elisha, who tells them that God will provide water and deliver the Moabites into their hands. Elisha then asks for a musician to play, and as the musician plays, the hand of the Lord comes upon Elisha, and he prophesies that the valley will be filled with water, even though there is no rain. As Elisha had prophesied, the next morning, water miraculously fills the valley, and the Moabites mistake it for blood. This leads them to attack the Israelites, but they are defeated, and the Israelites gain a great victory over Moab.
