Easy Bible・2 Kings 8
2 Kings 8:1
Now Elisha had said to the woman whose son he had restored to life, "Go away with your family and stay for a while wherever you can, because the LORD has decreed a famine in the land that will last seven years."
In this chapter, Elisha prophesies to the Shunammite woman that a famine will come upon the land for seven years. He advises her to leave the land with her family to dwell in a foreign country. After the famine, the woman returns to the land and appeals to the king to restore her house and land. By God's providence, the king orders the restoration of her property and all the income that the land had produced during her absence. This story demonstrates God's faithfulness to His people. Even in difficult times, He provides for those who trust in Him. Elisha's prophecy and the king's decision to restore the woman's land show how God works through various circumstances to fulfill His promises. It is a reminder that we can trust in God's provision and restoration in our lives as well.
