2 Kings 18:5
Hezekiah trusted in the LORD, the God of Israel. There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, either before him or after him.

About this Chapter

Hezekiah was a king of Judah who trusted in the Lord and followed His commands. He removed the high places, smashed the sacred stones, and cut down the Asherah poles. He trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel, and there was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, either before him or after him. He held fast to the Lord and did not stop following Him; he kept the commands the Lord had given Moses. Because of Hezekiah's faithfulness, the Lord was with him, and he was successful in everything he did. He rebelled against the king of Assyria and did not serve him. Hezekiah also defeated the Philistines, from Gaza to Gath, and their territory. Hezekiah's reign was marked by his trust in the Lord and his obedience to His commands. He removed the idols and false gods from the land and led the people in worship of the one true God. Hezekiah serves as an example of faithfulness and obedience to God, and his reign was blessed because of it.
