Easy Bible・1 Chronicles 5
1 Chronicles 5:20
They were helped in fighting them, and God handed the Hagrites and all their allies over to them, because they cried out to him during the battle. He answered their prayers, because they trusted in him.
In 1 Chronicles 5, the chapter starts by listing the genealogy of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel. It then focuses on the descendants of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh who were skilled warriors and went to war against the Hagrites. The Reubenites, Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh cried out to God during the battle, and He answered their prayers by giving them victory. They captured the Hagrites' livestock and took many prisoners. The descendants of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh lived in their territory until the exile.
