About this Chapter

In this chapter, we see the reign of David as the king of Israel and his victories against the Philistines. David became the king of Israel and established his kingdom. He built houses for himself in the City of David and prepared a place for the Ark of God. David sought the Lord's guidance and inquired if he should go up against the Philistines. God gave him the command to go and promised to deliver the Philistines into his hands. David followed God's command and defeated the Philistines in two battles. He acknowledged that it was God who gave him the victory and not his own strength. David's fame spread throughout the land, and the Lord blessed him and his kingdom.
