Easy Bible・2 Chronicles 3
2 Chronicles 3:1
Then Solomon began to build the temple of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the LORD had appeared to his father David. It was on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite, the place provided by David.
This chapter describes the construction of the temple that King Solomon built for the Lord. It begins by stating that Solomon started building the temple in the fourth year of his reign, on the second day of the second month. The temple was built on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem, the same place where Abraham had offered Isaac as a sacrifice. It was built according to the specifications given by David, Solomon's father, and with the help of skilled workers and artisans. The temple was made of stone and cedar wood, and it was overlaid with pure gold. It was adorned with precious stones and intricate carvings. The inside of the temple was covered in gold, including the walls, the floor, and the ceiling. The Most Holy Place, where the ark of the covenant was placed, was separated from the rest of the temple by a veil.
