2 Chronicles 29:11
My sons, do not be negligent now, for the LORD has chosen you to stand before him and serve him, to minister before him and to burn incense."
In this chapter, King Hezekiah begins his reign by restoring the worship of God in the temple. He opens the doors of the temple and calls the priests and Levites to cleanse and consecrate it. They remove all the impurities and restore the holy vessels and altar. Hezekiah then gathers the officials and people of Judah and leads them in offering sacrifices and burnt offerings. The people respond with repentance and worship, confessing their sins and seeking forgiveness from God. As a result, God's wrath is turned away from them. The chapter concludes with a summary of Hezekiah's reforms, including the restoration of the daily sacrifices and the appointment of priests and Levites to serve in the temple. Hezekiah's actions serve as a reminder of the importance of worship and repentance in the life of God's people.
