2 Chronicles 35:1
Josiah celebrated the Passover to the LORD in Jerusalem, and the Passover lamb was slaughtered on the fourteenth day of the first month.

About this Chapter

In the eighteenth year of his reign, King Josiah celebrated the Passover to the Lord in Jerusalem. He appointed the priests to their duties and encouraged them to serve in the temple of the Lord. Josiah provided the necessary animals for the Passover sacrifices and gave the people sheep, lambs, and young goats. The Passover lamb was slaughtered and the priests sprinkled the blood on the altar. The people then roasted the Passover lamb and ate it according to the instructions given by Moses. The Passover celebration was a great success and it had not been observed like this in Israel since the days of Samuel the prophet. Josiah's commitment to the Lord and his obedience to the commands of God brought blessings to the people.
