In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.
In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil. He had seven sons and three daughters, and he owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred donkeys, and had a large number of servants. He was the greatest man among all the people of the East. Job was a man of great character and wealth. He was blameless and upright, meaning that he lived a righteous and moral life. He feared God, showing his reverence and respect for the Lord. Job also shunned evil, actively avoiding sinful actions and thoughts. Not only was Job a man of character, but he was also immensely blessed by God. He had a large family, with seven sons and three daughters. He owned a vast amount of livestock, including seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred donkeys. Job's wealth and possessions made him the greatest man in the entire region of the East.
