Easy Bible・Job 13
Job 13:15
Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face.
In this chapter, Job continues to express his frustration and despair in his suffering. He pleads with God to listen to his words and to grant him justice. Job acknowledges that he is willing to take the risk and approach God, even though he knows it may result in his own destruction. He longs for God to answer him and to show him the reason for his suffering. Job also confronts his friends, accusing them of being false comforters and worthless physicians. He asserts that they are not speaking on behalf of God and that their words are empty and meaningless. Job desires to present his case directly to God, rather than relying on the misguided advice of his friends. Through Job's plea, we see his deep longing for God's presence and justice. He is desperate for answers and is willing to risk everything to find them. Job's honesty and vulnerability in his suffering serve as a reminder that it is okay to bring our questions and frustrations to God, even when we don't understand why we are going through difficult times.
