Easy Bible・Job 17
Job 17:11
My days have passed, my plans are shattered, and so are the desires of my heart.
In this chapter, Job expresses his deep despair and frustration. He feels that his friends have turned against him and that his situation is hopeless. Job pleads with God for mercy and asks for a fair hearing. He longs for relief from his suffering and for his friends to acknowledge his innocence. Job begins by describing his deteriorating physical condition, saying that his days are coming to an end and that darkness is his only companion. He feels abandoned by everyone, including his own family. Despite his pleas for help, Job's friends continue to offer him no comfort or support. In his desperation, Job turns to God and asks Him to be his guarantor. He wants God to put up security for him, as if he were borrowing money. Job believes that if God were to do this, it would prove his innocence and give him hope for the future. However, Job acknowledges that his hope is fading, and he feels like a man on the brink of death.
