Job 26:14
And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him! Who then can understand the thunder of his power?"

About this Chapter

In this chapter, Job responds to his friend Bildad's previous speeches and acknowledges God's power and majesty. Job begins by sarcastically praising Bildad's helpful words, but then goes on to describe God's control over the world. He speaks of God's ability to hang the earth on nothing, to stretch out the heavens, and to control the clouds, winds, and waters. Job recognizes that God's power is beyond human comprehension and that no one can fully understand His ways. Job also mentions the power of God over the sea, describing how God has set boundaries for the waters and controls even the forces of chaos and destruction. He acknowledges that God's wisdom and understanding are unfathomable, and that His power extends over all creation. Job concludes by affirming his own faith in God, despite his suffering, and expressing his desire to continue seeking God's wisdom and understanding.
