Easy Bible・Psalms 4
Psalms 4:8
I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
In Psalm 4, David expresses his trust in God's provision and seeks His righteousness. David starts by calling on God to hear his prayer and have mercy on him. He acknowledges that God has set apart the godly for Himself and will answer when called upon. David then addresses those who seek after falsehood and warns them to turn from their ways and put their trust in God. He reminds them that God will bless the righteous and surround them with His favor. David continues by sharing his personal experience of God's faithfulness. He encourages others to offer sacrifices in righteousness and put their trust in the Lord. David expresses his confidence in God's protection, saying that he can lie down and sleep in peace because God alone makes him dwell in safety. He ends the psalm by expressing his joy and gratitude, knowing that God has heard his prayer and will answer him.
