Psalms 8:1
O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.
In this psalm, David praises God for His majesty and glory. He marvels at how God's name is majestic in all the earth, and how God has set His glory above the heavens. David recognizes that even though God is so great and mighty, He still cares for and values humanity. David reflects on how God has given mankind dominion over the works of His hands, and has put all things under their feet. He sees this as a reflection of God's love and favor towards humanity, and is in awe of the fact that God has crowned them with glory and honor. In light of God's greatness and the honor He has bestowed upon mankind, David concludes the psalm by praising God for His wonderful creation. He acknowledges that everything in the heavens and on earth, including the birds, the fish, and all creatures, declare the glory of God.
