Easy Bible・Psalms 11
Psalms 11:1
In the LORD I take refuge. How then can you say to me: "Flee like a bird to your mountain.
In this psalm, David expresses his trust in the Lord amidst difficult circumstances. He begins by acknowledging that his enemies are plotting against him and urging him to flee. However, David firmly declares that he will not be shaken, for he trusts in the Lord. He believes that the Lord is in His holy temple and that He sees everything that happens on earth. David then describes the wickedness of his enemies, emphasizing that the Lord hates the wicked and will punish them. He affirms that the Lord is righteous and loves justice, and therefore, the upright will see His face. David ends the psalm by praising the Lord and expressing his confidence in His protection and guidance. This psalm teaches us the importance of trusting in the Lord even in the face of adversity. It reminds us that God is aware of our circumstances and that He will ultimately bring justice to the wicked. As believers, we can find strength and security in our trust in the Lord, knowing that He is our refuge and our shield.
