Psalms 113:1
Praise the LORD. Praise, O servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD.
Psalm 113 begins with a call to praise the Lord. It emphasizes that the Lord is exalted and above all nations and that His glory is above the heavens. The psalm then highlights the Lord's care for the needy and the weak. It mentions how He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap. God's care extends to the barren woman, granting her a home and making her a joyful mother of children. The psalm concludes by exhorting everyone to praise the Lord. From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised. He is the one who reigns over all, and His glory is above the heavens.
