Psalms 131:1
My heart is not proud, O LORD, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me.

About this Chapter

In this psalm, David expresses his humility and contentment in God. He compares himself to a weaned child, no longer dependent on its mother's milk, but still finding comfort and peace in her presence. David acknowledges that he does not have lofty ambitions or concern himself with matters beyond his understanding. Instead, he chooses to trust in the Lord and find rest in His presence. The psalm serves as a reminder to us to let go of our pride and desires for greatness, and instead find contentment in God's love and care. It encourages us to have a childlike faith, trusting in God's wisdom and provision.
