Psalms 132:1
O LORD, remember David and all the hardships he endured.

About this Chapter

This psalm is a prayer of David, asking God to remember his devotion and promise to establish a dwelling place for the Lord. David vows to not rest until he finds a place for the Lord, and he desires for the Lord's presence to dwell in Jerusalem forever. David recounts how he heard about the ark of the covenant and found it in the fields of Jaar. He and his people brought the ark to Jerusalem with great joy and celebration. David declares that the Lord has chosen Zion as His dwelling place and desires it as His resting place forever. David prays for God's blessing upon the priests and the people who serve Him. He expresses his desire for God to clothe His priests with salvation and cause His faithful people to shout for joy. David concludes the psalm by declaring that God has chosen Zion and will bless it abundantly.
