About this Chapter

Psalm 136 is a beautiful hymn that reminds us of God's enduring love and faithfulness. The psalmist begins by calling us to give thanks to the Lord, for He is good and His love endures forever. The psalmist then goes on to recount the many ways in which God has shown His love and faithfulness throughout history. The psalmist highlights God's creation, from the heavens above to the earth below, and acknowledges that God is the creator of all things. He also remembers how God brought the Israelites out of Egypt with signs and wonders, parting the Red Sea and leading them through the wilderness. The psalmist praises God for His provision, mentioning how He gives food to every creature and satisfies the needs of His people. In the final verses, the psalmist acknowledges God's victory over the enemies of His people, and His ongoing protection and care. The psalm concludes with a call to give thanks to the God of heaven, for His steadfast love endures forever. Psalm 136 reminds us to always remember and give thanks for God's enduring love, for He is faithful and His love never fails.
