Psalms 139:1
O LORD, you have searched me and you know me.
In Psalm 139, David expresses his awe and wonder at the knowledge and presence of God in his life. He acknowledges that God knows everything about him, even his thoughts and actions. David realizes that he cannot hide from God, as God is always with him, whether he is awake or asleep. God's knowledge and presence are too wonderful and vast for David to fully comprehend. David also acknowledges that God created him fearfully and wonderfully. He marvels at how intricately God formed him in his mother's womb, and how every day of his life was written in God's book before he was even born. David recognizes that he is fearfully and wonderfully made, and he praises God for His marvelous works. In the final part of the psalm, David expresses his desire for God to search his heart and know his anxious thoughts. He asks God to lead him in the way everlasting and to guide him in the path of righteousness. David recognizes that God's presence and guidance are essential in his life, and he surrenders himself to God's perfect knowledge and loving care.
