The LORD is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life- of whom shall I be afraid?

About this Chapter

In Psalm 27, David expresses his confidence in the Lord as his light and salvation. He declares that the Lord is his stronghold, and he has no reason to fear. David desires to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of his life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and seek Him in His temple. He seeks the Lord's guidance and protection against his enemies, and he trusts that the Lord will answer his prayers and deliver him. David acknowledges that even if his father and mother forsake him, the Lord will take him in. He asks the Lord not to reject him or forsake him, but to teach him His way and lead him on level ground. David is confident that he will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living, and he encourages others to wait for the Lord and be strong and take heart. Psalm 27 is a beautiful expression of David's trust and confidence in the Lord. It reminds us that even in times of trouble and fear, we can find strength and refuge in God. Like David, we can seek His presence, trust in His guidance, and wait for His deliverance. The Lord is our light and salvation, and we can rest in His love and protection.
