Psalms 35:1
Contend, O LORD, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me.

About this Chapter

In this chapter, David cries out to God for deliverance from his enemies. He asks God to fight against those who fight against him and to take up his shield and armor. David pleads for God's intervention, asking Him to put an end to the schemes of his enemies and to confound them. He also expresses his trust in God's righteousness and justice, believing that God will ultimately rescue him and bring justice to his enemies. David describes the wickedness of his enemies, who repay him evil for good and accuse him of things he has not done. Despite their attacks, David remains steadfast in his faith, praying for their shame and defeat. He promises to praise God and rejoice in His salvation when he is delivered from his enemies. This psalm reminds us that it is okay to cry out to God in times of trouble and to ask for His help and protection. It also teaches us to trust in God's righteousness and justice, knowing that He will defend and deliver His people. Like David, we can find comfort and strength in knowing that God is our ultimate protector and vindicator.
