Psalms 37:1
Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong;

About this Chapter

Psalm 37 encourages us to trust in God's faithfulness and not to be envious of the wicked. It reminds us that God sees everything and will bring justice in due time. The psalmist advises us to delight in the Lord and commit our ways to Him, for He will give us the desires of our hearts. We are encouraged to be patient and wait for God's timing, knowing that the wicked will eventually be cut off, while the righteous will inherit the land. The psalmist contrasts the temporary prosperity of the wicked with the everlasting blessings of the righteous. Though the wicked may seem to flourish and succeed for a time, their end will come, and they will be no more. On the other hand, the righteous will be upheld by the Lord and will have a secure future. The psalmist reassures us that God takes delight in the way of the righteous, and even when they stumble, they will not be utterly cast down. In the midst of difficult circumstances, the psalmist encourages us to be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him. We are reminded that the meek will inherit the earth, and those who trust in the Lord will not be put to shame. The psalm concludes with a reminder that the Lord is the one who saves and delivers His people, and He will be their stronghold in times of trouble.
