Psalms 39:4
"Show me, O LORD, my life's end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting is my life.
In this Psalm, David reflects on the brevity of life and the need for God's guidance. He starts by saying, 'Show me, Lord, my life's end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is.' (Psalms 39:4) David realizes that life is short and that everything we accumulate on earth is meaningless in the grand scheme of things. David also acknowledges the struggles and hardships he faces in life. He says, 'But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.' (Psalms 39:7) Despite the challenges, David puts his trust in God and finds hope in Him. In the final part of the Psalm, David prays for God's mercy and deliverance. He says, 'Turn your gaze away from me, that I may enjoy life again before I depart and am no more.' (Psalms 39:13) David recognizes his own mortality and seeks God's help to make the most of the time he has left.
