Easy Bible・Psalms 58
Psalms 58:1
Do you rulers indeed speak justly? Do you judge uprightly among men?
In this psalm, the psalmist cries out to God for justice against the wicked. He describes the wicked as those who are corrupt from birth, speaking lies and plotting evil. The psalmist asks God to break the teeth of the wicked and to make them like a slug that melts away. He expresses confidence that God will bring judgment on the wicked. The psalmist then compares the wicked to thorns that are swept away by a strong wind. He acknowledges that the righteous will rejoice when they see God's justice being served. The psalm ends with a reminder that God is the ultimate judge, and that He will bring justice to the earth. This psalm reminds us that God is just and will judge the wicked. It encourages us to trust in God's justice and to pray for His judgment against those who do evil. It also reminds us that the righteous will ultimately be vindicated and rejoice when they see God's justice being served.
