Psalms 62:1
My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him.

About this Chapter

In this psalm, David declares that God alone is his rock and salvation. He finds rest in God alone, for God is his refuge and strength. David trusts in God at all times and encourages others to do the same. He warns against putting trust in worldly things such as wealth, power, and deceitful schemes, for they are fleeting and cannot provide true security. Instead, David urges us to pour out our hearts to God, for He is our refuge and our hope. David acknowledges that God is just and will repay each person according to their deeds. He advises us not to trust in extortion or take pride in ill-gotten gain, for these things will not bring lasting prosperity. Instead, David reminds us to trust in God, who is our rock and salvation. He encourages us to find rest in God alone, knowing that He is our fortress and we will not be shaken. In conclusion, this psalm reminds us that God is our refuge and strength. We should put our trust in Him alone and not in worldly things. When we face challenges and difficulties, let us pour out our hearts to God and find rest in Him. He is our rock, our salvation, and our fortress, and He will never fail us.
