Easy Bible・Psalms 63
Psalms 63:1
O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
In this psalm, David expresses his deep longing for God. He thirsts for God, like a parched land thirsts for water. David's soul longs for God, and he earnestly seeks Him. He desires to experience God's presence and power in his life. David reflects on his past experiences of witnessing God's power and glory. He remembers how he has seen God in the sanctuary and beheld His power and glory. These memories fuel David's longing for God even more, as he desires to once again experience the same closeness and intimacy with God. In the midst of his longing, David finds comfort and satisfaction in God alone. He declares that God's love is better than life itself, and he praises God with joyful lips. David's deep longing for God leads him to seek and worship Him wholeheartedly.
