Psalms 72:1
Endow the king with your justice, O God, the royal son with your righteousness.
This psalm is a prayer of King Solomon, asking God for justice and righteousness in his reign. Solomon prays for God's blessings upon himself as a king and for the prosperity and well-being of his people. He desires to rule with righteousness and to bring justice to the poor and needy. Solomon acknowledges that God is the ultimate source of power and authority, and he seeks God's guidance and wisdom to govern his people. He prays for God's protection and deliverance from his enemies, and asks for God's favor to be upon him and his kingdom. In this psalm, we see Solomon's heart for the welfare of his people and his desire to lead with integrity and righteousness. It serves as a reminder for us to pray for our leaders and to seek God's wisdom and guidance in all areas of our lives.
