Proverbs 16:3
Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.

About this Chapter

Proverbs 16 teaches us the importance of committing our plans to the Lord. Verse 3 says, 'Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.' This verse reminds us that when we surrender our plans to God and seek His guidance, He will help us succeed. The chapter also highlights the contrast between pride and humility. It warns against being arrogant and thinking we can control everything. Verse 18 states, 'Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.' Instead, we are encouraged to be humble and acknowledge our need for God's wisdom and guidance. Furthermore, Proverbs 16 emphasizes the importance of integrity and honesty. Verse 11 says, 'Honest scales and balances belong to the Lord; all the weights in the bag are of his making.' This verse reminds us that God values honesty and fairness in our dealings with others. We are called to live with integrity and treat others justly.
